Time to say thanks to those making sustainable sourcing decisions and contributing to a critical positive impact in the pacific island region toward the overall well-being of communities and families.
This past week the PNA Tuna members adopted a #conservation measure on the management procedure for #skipjack tuna in the WCPO, without this progress towards #harvest strategies and PNA’s leadership to put this proposal forward, all #fisheries could have lost their MSC status. We could not be more proud of our #Pacific leaders. Thanks to their initiatives not only we can share this news, but also our ocean remains the only ocean where skipjack, #yellowfin, #bigeye, and #albacore stocks are healthy and #overfishing is not occurring.
We will continue to serve you with MSC FAD free skipjack and yellowfin independently verified at sea and with verified @Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST) -capable traceability solutions. Special thanks to the @Global Tuna Alliance for keeping everyone up to date during the meeting!

What message are brands and retailers in the EU, North America, and Australia sending, especially those with open commitments to #sustainablesourcing, #fishermen, industry associations, observers on board, and tuna resource owners working on sustainable tuna every day?

Today we are reminded that we live on the blue planet because the #ocean covers most of planet Earth. We champion the #Pacific Nations, citizens, and custodians of the largest and deepest ocean on Earth.
Did you know you could put all of Earth’s landmasses together, and the Pacific would still be larger!
Last year Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat put together a beautiful book named ‘Our Sea of Islands, Our Blue Pacific’. We would like to highlight it today once again, it is a marvelous piece of art done by #OPOC Meg Taylor, DBE , illlustrated by Penelope Casey
To ensure future generations enjoy a clean and sustainable Ocean for good, the choice is simple: Support the Pacific nations by buying sustainable #tuna caught in the waters of the Pacific Nations. Your #sourcing choices make a huge difference for the Pacific People.
The ocean produces over half of the world’s oxygen, absorbs 50 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere, and transports heat from the equator to the poles, regulating our climate and weather patterns. On #earthday we are celebrating the pacific nations, who play an important role on earth as custodians of the world’s oceans. Happy Earth Day everyone!

100% of all our supply chain partners will have the ability to align their Pacifical supply chain traceability data language with multiple product categories. We can’t wait to see the GDST Traceability Standard coming to reality in our tuna industry!
Huge thanks to @Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST) , @EVRYTHNG – a Digimarc company and Digimarc who have been together with us in this initiative aiming to demonstrate the technical ability to transmit all GDST Key Data Elements (KDEs) and Critical Tracking Events (CTEs) consistently across our systems.
This ability could be extended to tuna brands and retailers that are aiming to implement the GDST Standard and sourcing @Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Pacifical tuna from the Western Pacific Island region. Contact us today so that we can let you know how you can take part in this: email@example.com

That woman in the tuna industry, who juggles with her factory job and the responsibilities of being a mother. Women in canneries all over the world that help feed the world, and make the availability of affordable highly nutritious tuna a reality every day.
Did you know #SolomonIslands SolTuna is building a Child Care center right next to the cannery? In our industry we know that absenteeism is probably the number 1 issue for all tuna factories in the Pacific. In the Solomon islands they found out that many female workers were absent regularly in large part due to the lack of affordable child care. At Pacifical we love to see the Pacific region stepping up for #equality
Happy International Women’s day from Pacifical www.pacifical.com
A day to spread awareness on the importance and great value of tuna, both to the Pacifical island community and consumers worldwide.
Last year, @Pacifical was thrilled to invite people throughout PNA to submit a video clip showing how their tuna resources are contributing to their communities. We loved to see so much engagement, creativity, and awareness. This 2022, @PNA Tuna is inviting nationals to use art, music, dance, writing, video, to share their vision regarding “Our Tuna, Our Heritage”.
We cannot wait to see the videos of the winners! Click here for more details: https://pnatuna.com/content/world-tuna-day-art-talent-quest-2022
